ARTISTS STATEMENT Every one has a defining moment in our lives which seems to lead us to the discovery of who we are. This moment, I remember it clearly. Out of an act of frustration and desperation, I proceeded to throw out my portfolio, brushes and paints in a dumpster. At the time, an overwhelming feeling of panic set in “What have I done?” A great personal revelation came to me that not only were my tools of creation amongst everyday trash but my soul as well. Never would I forget that my art was such a defining component in my identity. My need to paint is necessary to my existence as someone else’s need to eat. I work with mediums and textures that I have never experienced before. Everyday, self-discovery leads me to gain wisdom and express what the world looks like through my eyes. Objects and materials are speaking to me “Show the world the grace you see.”
